Hi. I'm Natalie. And today Veritas health is going to bring you a 1 minute knee strengthening exercise for arthritis pain relief. When you have a diagnosis of arthritis, it's especially important to keep your quads, hamstrings, and gluteal muscles strong. To help stabilize your knee joint, absorb shock, and prevent more wear and tear through your joints.

Squatting is a great exercise because it's functional, and targets multiple muscle groups, including your quadriceps, hamstrings, include your muscles. To do a Squat, you're going to stand with your feet about hip width apart. I'm going to have you first send your hips back like you're sitting down in a chair, and then bend your knees as far as you feel comfortable.

You don't have to go super deep if it hurts. We just go to a point, where it's comfortable. You can go up to 10 of these, and over time work your way up to performing three to four sets. A modification for this, if it's difficult to get your hips back, or if you want a little extra support is to have a chair behind you. You'll send your hips back, squat down to the chair, and then come back up.

You can use a raised surface like a higher chair, a couch or a bed to give you a little extra support with this. For more tips on how to relieve arthritis pain, please visit us at arthritis health. And be sure to subscribe to our channel for more videos like this. Thank you for watching.
